How to install the APK

Android blocks installs from outside the Play Store by default, so your phone will show a warning. That is normal. Here is how to allow it, just for this one install.

  1. 1Tap Download for Android above. Your browser may warn you about downloading a file type it does not recognise. That is expected for any app from outside the Play Store, so tap Download or Keep to continue.
  2. 2Open the downloaded ParkOS.apk file from your notifications or your Downloads folder.
  3. 3Your phone will block the install and show a message like "For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source." Tap Settings on that screen.
  4. 4Turn on "Allow from this source" for your browser or file manager, then go back to the install screen.
  5. 5Tap Install. Once it finishes, open ParkOS and log in with your ParkOS account.

This is safe to install. It is the official ParkOS build that we publish ourselves, and its SHA-256 checksum is shown above so you can verify the file yourself if you want to. The warning is Android being careful about any app from outside the Play Store, not a sign that something is wrong.

Using an iPhone?

ParkOS for iOS is not on the App Store yet. It is available to invited testers only. If you would like early access for your team, contact us and we will add you.
